Rainbow of Happiness

The rainbow flag is most commonly known as the pride flag/symbol of LGBT group. Gilbert Baker had defined meanings for each of the colour on the rainbow flag. The original version, which consisted of 8 colours, was introduced in 1978. Pink referred to sexuality, red for life, orange as healing, yellow as sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for art, indigo for harmony, and violet for spirit. Now of course, the flag is being reduce to 6 colours for the ease of production, with red as life, orange as healing, yellow as sun, green as calmness, blue as harmony, and purple as spirit. Also, the different colours on the flag represent and celebrate the diversity within the community. If you want further information regarding the history and everything else of the gay rainbow flag, click here to read more on Wikipedia.

For me, I like personalize the colours to expand my own happiness. Here's my version of the colour meanings:

RED - motivation and passion
ORANGE - faith in positivity
YELLOW - strength and power
GREEN - sustainability
BLUE - simplification and reduction
PURPLE - emotion

May all of you have your rainbow of (queer) happiness too!

P.S. Absolut Vodka had invited Gilbert Baker to design a rainbowy bottle for them some time last year to celebrate 30 years of the rainbow flag. See it here: http://www.absolut.com/colors/
